Recently FY!JH has received a few of our followers’ complaints about sharing whitewashed fantaken images on the blog.

Whitewashing is an image altering technique which results in lightening the skin colour of a person in an image and, intentionally or not, sends out negative and hurtful colorist connotations. This is a common practice not just of the majority of idol fansites, but also of magazines, media outlets, and entertainment companies (eg. comeback teasers, profile images, etc). This poll concerns only fantaken images.
